AIDA at Masada

June 2011 - This past weekend the opera Aida was performed against the majestic backdrop of the mountain fortress of Masada as part of the 2011 Israeli Opera Festival. The stunning venue together with Verdi’s magical opera can only result in a dazzling experience.

Not everyone is an opera lover but even those who are not could only be enthralled by the experience of actually attending an opera at Masada.

 
Apart from Verdi’s Aida, this year’s annual Masada Opera Festival will feature a gala concert featuring Andrea Bocelli performing operatic arias as well as Neapolitan songs.

Bocelli will be accompanied by the Rishon Lezion Symphony Orchestra and the Israel opera choir.  There will also be a number of guest artists.


A performance of Bizet’s Carmen at Masada has been planned for the Opera Festival in June 2012
