Israel Wine Tasting Festival

Barrel room at a wineryThe 2011 annual Israel Wine tasting festival will take place from the 15th – 18th August 2011 and will feature wines from Israel’s leading wineries. The venue is the Israel Museum’s magnificent  20 acre sculpture garden with impressive works by Israeli and International artists such as August Rodin, Pablo Picasso, Henry Moor and Menashe Kadisman as well as many others.

It is in this setting that wine and cheese lovers will be able to sample the best wines with the soft sweet sounds of jazz in the background.

As far back as biblical times wine has been made in the Holy Land and for centuries monasteries have cultivated grapes and made wine. According to archeological evidence wine made in the Judean Hills region 2000 years ago was enjoyed by Pilgrims making their way to the Temple in Jerusalem.

Today there are five wine producing regions in Israel, the Galilee (includes the Golan Heights), the Judean Hills, the Negev desert, the Shomron region and the Samson region. Wine is produced in Israel by 150 + boutique wineries and more than 25 commercial wineries.  We can arrange wine tours of the different regions and wineries.
