Jerusalem Festival of Lights

Jerusalem’s Old City will again form the splendid backdrop for the annual Jerusalem Festival of Light scheduled to take place from the 15 – 22nd June 2011. Every evening for 8 days between the hours of 20.00 – 24.00 the alleys of the old city become an open museum exhibiting matchless light sculptures and illuminating the magnificent ancient sites and various attractions.
 
This superb celebration of light in an urban setting has been initiated by the Jerusalem Development Authority in conjunction with the Prime Ministers’ Office, the Ministry of Tourism and the Jerusalem Municipality and is expected to attract over quarter of a million visitors to the Old City during the 8 days of the festival.
 
Along with the artistic light exhibits that have been designed by local and international artists of light there will be various street events and performances.
