Monday arrival 2011

MONDAY - Jerusalem
Upon arrival in Israel our representative will meet you and help with transfer to hotel in Jerusalem for overnight.  

TUESDAY - Jerusalem  - New City
Begin today with an all-encompassing view of Jerusalem from the top of Mount of Olives. Then on to the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of the Agony. Continue to the Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls at the Israel Museum, then a visit to the Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem which dates back to the time of the Second Temple. Proceed to Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. In the afternoon visit the charming village of Ein Karem which is the birth place of John the Baptist. Return to Hotel.

WEDNESDAY - Jerusalem - Old City – Bethlehem*
Enter the Old City of Jerusalem though one of the gates to the Jewish Quarter and visit the Western Wall and the Temple area. Continue on and follow the Stations of the Cross on the Via Dolorosa ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Drive to Mount Zion and visit the Hall of the Last Supper, David’s Tomb and Dormition Abbey.  In the Afternoon continue to Bethlehem* to visit the Church of the Nativity and a view of the shepherds fields. Return to Jerusalem for overnight.

NazarethTHURSDAY – Beit Shean - Nazareth - Galilee
Drive north via the oldest city in the world, Jericho. Proceed through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean and see the excavations of this Roman city.  Continue to Nazareth where you will visit Mary’s Well and the Church of the Annunciation.  From there continue to the city of KabalaSafed. Stroll around the artist’s colony and alleys. Drive to Kibbutz Hotel for overnight.


FRIDAY - Golan Heights –Sea of Galilee
Today we start off by travelling to see the Druze villages and the former Syrian fortifications on the Golan Heights. Proceed to Banias which is the source of the Jordan River and then continue to Capernaum on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.  Tour the ruins here including Peter’s House.  Continue to Tabgha to see the site where the Miracle of Feeding the 5000 and visit the Mount of Beatitudes. Take a short tour of Tiberias and then return to the Kibbutz hotel for overnight.

Sea Walls in AcreSATURDAY - Acre - Haifa - Tel Aviv
The first stop today is Acre to see the ancient walled city with its fortress and Crusaders’ Crypts.   From there proceed to the city of Haifa for a tour of the Baha’i Temple and Gardens and a panoramic view from the top of Mount Carmel. Continue south to visit the ancient Roman Theater and fortress in Caesarea. From there, travel to Tel Aviv for a quick tour of the city and to your hotel for overnight. Proceed southwards to Caesarea to visit the Roman Theater and the Crusader fortress. Continue to Tel Aviv-Jaffa for a short city tour and to hotel for overnight.


SUNDAY - Free Day
Today is a free day to relax in Tel Aviv or you have the option of a tour to the Dead Sea.

MONDAY - Departure
 Breakfast and transfer to the airport for departure.
