Enjoy a family trip to Israel

Day 1.

Depart for Israel.

Day 2. Arrival, Jerusalem

Arrive in Israel at Ben Gurion International Airport, where a Vered HaSharon representative will meet you and escort you to your motor coach. Welcome to Israel. You will have a transfer to Jerusalem with stop en route in Mt. Scopus or Mevasseret for reflective moment and shehechiyanu prayer. Check-in for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 3. Friday -  Jerusalem

Mt. of Olives or Mt. Scopus overview of Jerusalem, Tour of Old City including the Temple Mount (optional), Visit Davidson Center depicting the daily life at Solomon's Temple.
Visit Mahane Yehuda market as Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat. Return to hotel to freshen-up before Shabbat.
Visit with Jerusalem area congregation for Kabbalat Shabbat. Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 4. Saturday (Shabbat) - Jerusalem
Morning free to attend services or rest. Afternoon: Walking tour Jerusalem (new or Old) + havdallah.
Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5. Jerusalem
Visit YAD VASHEM + Mt. Herzl National Cemetery, Visit the Israel Museum including the Dead Sea Scrolls & Old City model
Visit to security fence area + explanation. Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 6. Dead Sea
Visit Massada, Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, Swim/float in the Dead Sea.
Return to Jerusalem hotel for dinner & overnight (or overnight at the Dead Sea).

Day 7. Jerusalem - Galilee
Depart Jerusalem east past Jericho following the Jordan River to the north, View Beit Shean, Visit the remains of the ancient synagogue at Beit Alpha, Visit the natural pools at Gan HaShlosha (Sachne) and/or the ancient hot springs at Hamat Gader.
Check-in to Galilee hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8. Galilee
Visit the ancient city of Safed, Visit a winery and kibbutz along the border with Lebanon, Visit Tel Dan one of the sources of the Jordan River, Ascend to the Golan Heights to view the border area with Syria, Visit the Talmudic Village at Katzrin.
Dinner & overnight in Galilee.

Day 9. Galilee

Visit Akko, Visit the ancient Jewish city of Tzippori, Visit Beit Shearim, seat of the Sanhedrin, View the Bahai Gardens and the city of Haifa, Enjoy Druze hospitality and learn about this community.
Visit the tomb of the Rambam in Tiberias.
Return to Galilee hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10. Galilee - Tel Aviv
Visit Tel Megiddo, Visit Illegal Immigration Camp near Atlit, Visit Zichron Ya'akov town center, Visit Caesarea.
Drive to Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.

Day 11. Tel Aviv - Yafo
Visit the ancient port of Jaffa, Tour Tel Aviv: Neve Tzedek the first neighborhood, Independence Hall, Rothschild Blvd, the Carmel market.
Visit Beth Hatfutzot, Museum of the Jewish Diaspora and/or the Palmach Museum.
Cultural evening (optional): Suzanne Dellal Center (dance), Rubin Museum (art) Dinner & overnight Tel Aviv.

Day 12. Tel Aviv - Departure

Free day to relax, shop or explore on your own, Farewell dinner and transfer to airport.
Depart.

Day 13. ARRIVE HOME

 

The actual Bar / Bat Mitzvah ceremony can be held at a number of places in Israel:

Western Wall – Southern portion – Men and women mixed
Local synagogues throughout the Country
The Synagogue at Masada
The Synagogue at Katzrin
