Day 01 – Arrival – Tel Aviv - Tiberias

Arrival at Ben Gurion airport. Meeting and assistance .Travel to Jaffa - south of Tel Aviv, which is considered to be the world's oldest sea-port.  Much of Old Jaffa has been lovingly restored and now houses an artists colony and galleries, together with the many churches and mosques which make for a unique site. On to Haifa, a beautiful port city with its spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. Overview from Mt. Carmel, visit the Stella Maris Church, visit at the view point the famous Baha’i Gardens. Continue to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.


 

Day 02 – Nazareth – Sea of Galilee - CapernaumTabgha – Mt. of Beatitudes
Drive to Nazareth, an Arab city in the Galilee with many Churches and Monasteries, where Jesus grew to manhood. Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation.  Continue to Cana and the Mt. of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount.  Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.  View the ancient boat that was excavated on the shores of the Galilee, believed to have been used during the time of Jesus.  Capernaum, where Jesus began his preaching career. Stop at Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of the Multiplication. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.


 

Ancient boatDay 03 – Tiberias Hot springs complex – YardenitQumran Caves – Dead Sea

Drive to Yardenit, traditional Baptismal site. Proceed to the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth. Visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Check into the hotel on the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight Dead Sea.


 

Day 04 – Dead Sea - Masada

Half day of leisure, enjoying the facilities of the hotel, spa treatments, hot tubs, Dead Sea Water Pools. In the afternoon visit Massada, a massive rocky outcrop in the Judean Desert 2km from the shore of the Dead Sea and the site of the most dramatic act in Jewish history when Jewish rebels elected mass suicide rather than submit to Roman capture in 73 A.C.  The site has been fully excavated and the remains of Herod's impregnable fortress have been exposed, as have the remains of the eight roman army camps that surrounded the mountain and the rebels living quarters.  Ascend and descend by cable car. Overnight Dead Sea.

 

 

MassadaDay 05 – Jerusalem – Mt. of Olives

 

Drive to Jerusalem. Mt. of Olives overview, visit Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations and the Wailing Wall. Dinner and overnight Jerusalem


 

Day 06 – Bethlehem

After breakfast drive to Bethlehem, to visit the Church of the Nativity built over the tomb of St. Geronimo.  In the grotto under the altar, see the silver star which marks the place of Jesus’ birth.  Next door to the Church of the Nativity is the Roman Catholic church of St. Catherine.  It is in this church that Christmas midnight mass is celebrated and relayed throughout the world via satellite.  Visit the Shepherd’s Field where angels appeared to the shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.


 

Jaffa GateDay 07 – Jerusalem – Old city
After breakfast drive to the Old City of Jerusalem, enter through Jaffa gate and walk to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Experience a Jewish quarter, Zion gate and Mt. Zion area. Drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 08 – Jerusalem – Israel museum – Yad Vashem
Breakfast in the hotel. Tour the new city of Jerusalem, driving via the Knesset. Visit Israeli museum to view the Dead Scrolls and the Second Temple Model. Visit Yad Vashem - the Jewish Holocaust memorial museum.   
Drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 09 – Jerusalem - Departure
Breakfast in hotel.  Transfer to Ben Gurion airport for your departure flight.
