Solar Energy Tour

Group Tour to Israel including visiting research centers, power plants and wind farms to see and learn more about Solar Energy in Israel.

Day 1: Arrival- Field Tours-Tel Aviv
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport where you will be met by a Vered Tours representative.  Transfer to Weizman Institute of Science – Solar Tower, then drive to Kvutzat Yavne – CSP Plant. Transfer to Tel Aviv View the Metropolitan city, driving through the main streets and past the main places of interest.  Continue to visit JAFFA - south of Tel Aviv which is considered to be the world's oldest sea-port.  Much of Old Jaffa has been lovingly restored and now houses an artist's colony and galleries, together with the many churches and mosques which make for a unique site.
Transfer to Tel Aviv hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 2: Tel Aviv- Caesarea- Haifa- Nazareth- Tiberias
After Breakfast, drive along the coastal road to CAESAREA an ancient Mediterranean city halfway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, containing many ruins most of which date from the Crusader period.  Prominent among these are the hippodrome, the Crusader city and the Roman amphitheater. Continue to NAZARETH an Arab city in the Galilee with many Churches and Monasteries, where Jesus grew to manhood. Continue to Haifa, sightseeing tour of Haifa, including the Bahai Shrine, Persian Garden and Mount Carmel for a panoramic view of the city and the bay. Continue to TIBERIAS on the Sea of Galilee. Transfer to Tiberias Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Field Tours - Galilee Tour
After breakfast, drive to visit wind farm in the Golan Heights.
Visit CAPERNAUM on the northwest shore where Jesus began his preaching career. The town is also well known during Second Temple, Roman and Byzantine periods.  Drive up to the MT. of BEATITUDES where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. Take a BOAT RIDE on the Sea of Galilee. Drive to YARDENIT where the Jordan River flows into the Sea of Galilee, this spot, a few meters down from the place where John the Baptist baptized Jesus, was developed as a baptism area.
Transfer to Jerusalem Hotel for dinner and overnight.
 

Day 4: Jerusalem – Bethlehem
After breakfast drive up the Mount of Olives for wonderful view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Visit the Church of All Nations. Enter the Old city of Jerusalem through the St. Stephens Gate and visit the Pools of Bethesda where Jesus cured the Paralytic man.  Visit the Church of St. Anne and begin your walk along the Via Dolorosa following the Stations of the Cross. Visit the Western Wall.
Drive to visit QUMRAN where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Proceed to the DEAD SEA to enjoy floating in the waters of the Dead Sea which have amazing healing powers.  The Dead Sea is the lowest place in the world.
Transfer to Dead Sea Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Field Tours -Eilat
After breakfast drive to Sde Boker to visit Blaustein Institute - Solar Energy Research Center. Then Continue through the Desert to Kibbutz Samar –to visit Aora Solar Flower Power Plant. Then drive to Kibbutz Ktura to visit PV Power plant. Continue to the city of Eilat.
Transfer to Eilat hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Eilat City Tour –Departure
After breakfast, drive to Eilat city tour. Then free time to relax and enjoy Eilat city.
Transfer to the airport for departure flight.
