Visit Tabgha, where the Miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and the Fish took place. Visit the site of ancient Capernaum on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus began his preaching career. Day 3

Old City of Jerusalem and Bethlehem

After breakfast, drive to Mt. of Olives for an overview of Jerusalem and hear an explanation of Jerusalem’s history. Time for photos and maybe a camel ride. Visit the site of Jesus’ ascension. On to the Garden Of Gethsemane, where Jesus agonized over the bitter cup he would drink. See the old Olive Trees and visit the Church of Agony. Enter the Old City and visit the Pool Of Bethesda, where Jesus cured the paralytic man. Walk along the Via Dolorosa, also called the Way of the Cross, a series of lanes in the Old City that, according to Christian tradition, was Jesus’ route from Pilate’s judgment hall to Golgotha. There are 14 Stations, each commemorating an event along Jesus’ route to crucifixion. Continue to Mt. Zion and visit the Upper Room where Jesus and his disciples ate the Last Supper.

Drive to Bethlehem, the site of the tomb of Rachel and the birthplace of Jesus. The town is dominated by the Church of the Nativity, built on the grotto where Jesus is believed to have been born. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
