LES PELERINS DE LA FOI – CINPEC 2013 - Catholic Pilgrimage to Paris, Rome, The Holy Land and Lourdes
A group of 450 Catholics pilgrims from Senegal traveled on a Pilgrimage to Paris, Rome, the Holy Land and Lourdes with the Bishop of Kaolak Senegal.
A charter flight was booked especially for this group who departed from Dakar and flew to Paris where they spent five days touring Holy sites in France including the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Douvres-la-Délivrande, and Lisieux. While in Paris the Senegal Ambassador met with the group to welcome them.
From Paris they flew to Rome for a few days to visit amongst other sites St. Peter's Basilica, Catacombs of Saint Sebastian and, of course, the Vatican before departing for the Holy Land.
Upon arrival in the Holy Land the group traveled north via Caesarea to Nazareth to tour Mary's Well, the Church of St. Gabriel and the Church of the Annunciation where they said Mass. While in the north the group toured the sites including visiting Capernaum, Tabgha and the Mount of Beatitudes. Our group of 450 pilgrims enjoyed a late afternoon cruise on the Sea of Galilee during which they held Mass while being surrounded by the magnificent landscape of the lake and mountains.
Continuing on with their tour, the group visited Haifa, Yardenit Baptism site, Bethlehem including the Church of Nativity before arriving in Jerusalem. While in Jerusalem they visited the Holy sites and held Mass at many of the churches. There was also a visit to the Dead Sea, Qumran caves, Jericho and Jaffa. After ten days of touring the Holy Land the group left for Lourdes where they spent three days visiting the Holy sites before finally flying back home to Dakar.
