History was made when, for the first time ever, Formula One racing took place in Israel. On the 13th and 14th June 2013, glossy F1 cars streaked through Jerusalem streets with the Old City walls as a fabulous backdrop. This event brought the dreams of Israeli motor-sport fans to reality.
The event that took place in Jerusalem included a Ferrari F1 car that was driven around the city circuit by the Italian driver Giancarlo Fisichella and in addition there was a show by Massimiliano Biaggi the retired Italian motorcycle racer who was the winner of the World Superbike Championship in 2012. An attraction for many people was the display at the Old Jerusalem Train Station from 9-13 June of racing cars and sports cars. The entire event was an exceptional and enthralling experience.
