Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival – Tel Aviv

Arrive in Israel at Ben Gurion International Airport, where a Vered HaSharon representative will meet you and escort you to your motorcoach. Welcome to Israel. You will have only a short drive to Tel Aviv, where you will check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Tel Aviv – Jaffa

Visit the ancient port of Jaffa. Tour Tel Aviv: Neve Tzedek, the first neighborhood. View “Bauhaus” architecture on Rothschild Blvd (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Visit the “Ayalon Institute” secret munitions plant. Overnight Tel Aviv

Day 3

Tel Aviv – Haifa

Visit Independence Hall, where the founding of the State of Israel was proclaimed, and visit the Diaspora Museum. Then, depart Tel Aviv, heading north along the Mediterranean coast. Visit Caesarea, the Roman port city built by Herod the Great. Visit the museum at the Illegal Immigration Camp near Atlit. Then, head up to Haifa, and view the Baha’i Gardens and the city of Haifa. Check-in to the hotel for overnight.

Day 4

Galilee

Travel to the Phoenician port city of Akko. Continue on to visit the grottos at Rosh HaNikra. Next, visit the ancient city of Safed. Visit a winery and kibbutz along the border with Lebanon. Tour Tel Dan by the Dan River – one of the tributaries of the Jordan River. Ascend to the Golan Heights to view the border area with Syria. Visit the Talmudic Village at Katzrin. Visit the tomb of the Rambam in Tiberias as well as Christian sites. Return to Haifa for overnight.

Day 5

Galilee – Jerusalem

Visit King Solomon’s stables at Tel Megiddo. Visit the remains of the ancient synagogue at Beit Alpha. View Beit Shean. Depart Galilee following the Jordan River to the south past Jericho. Travel to Jerusalem and check in to hotel for overnight.

Day 6

Jerusalem 

Mt. of Olives overview of Jerusalem and cemetery, tour of Old City including the Temple Mount and Western Wall Tunnels. Visit Davidson Center and experience the past and Solomon’s Temple with virtual reality. Visit Mt. Zion and the Jewish Quarter. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 7

Dead Sea 

Visit Masada and the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, Swim/float in the Dead Sea. Return to Jerusalem hotel for overnight.

Day 8

Jerusalem

Visit the Mea Shearim “Ultra-Orthodox” area, experience the  Mahane Yehuda market as Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat, Visit with Jerusalem area congregation for Kabbalat Shabbat (optional)

Day 9

Jerusalem

Morning free to attend services or rest (optional), Tour Jerusalem (new or old) including security barrier. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 10

Jerusalem

Visit Chagall Windows at Hadassah Hospital, Visit YAD VASHEM, visit Mt. Herzl National Cemetery and Herzl Museum. Visit the Israel Museum, including the Dead Sea Scrolls & Old City model. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 11

Jerusalem – Departure

Free day to explore Jerusalem on your own, rest, or shop. Meet in the evening for a farewell dinner. Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport. Depart on the return flight.
