Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Warsaw

Arrive in Warsaw and meet your guide at the airport. Transfer to your hotel for check-in and some rest. Begin your exploration with a visit to the Museum of the History of Polish Jews (POLIN), which offers a comprehensive history of Jews in Poland spanning over a thousand years. In the evening, take a guided walk through the Warsaw Ghetto area, visiting significant sites such as the Ghetto Heroes Monument and the Umschlagplatz. Enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant in the city and overnight in Warsaw.

Day 2

Warsaw

Start your day with a visit to the Nożyk Synagogue, the only synagogue in Warsaw that survived World War II. Attend morning services if desired. Explore the Jewish Cemetery in Warsaw, one of the largest Jewish cemeteries in the world, where many prominent Jewish figures are buried. In the afternoon, visit the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute, which holds a rich collection of documents from the Warsaw Ghetto. Take the evening to explore Warsaw’s Old Town, including the Royal Castle. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Warsaw.

Day 3

Warsaw – Treblinka – Tykocin – Białystok

Depart from Warsaw in the morning and travel to Treblinka, the site of one of the most infamous Nazi extermination camps. Visit the memorial and museum to reflect on the horrors of the Holocaust. Continue to Tykocin, a small town with a rich Jewish history. Visit the beautifully restored Tykocin Synagogue and explore the quaint town, which once had a thriving Jewish community. From Tykocin, travel to Białystok, where you will visit the site of the former Great Synagogue and explore the city’s Jewish heritage. Overnight in Białystok

Day 4

Białystok – Lublin

After breakfast, depart for Lublin, historically one of the major centers of Jewish learning and culture in Poland. Upon arrival, visit the Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin, which was once the largest Jewish educational institution in the world. Explore the Lublin Old Town, focusing on its Jewish heritage, including the former Jewish quarter and Grodzka Gate, known as the “Gate to the Jewish Town.” In the evening, enjoy a dinner in Lublin and overnight in the city.

Day 5

Lublin – Zamość – Biłgoraj

Leave Lublin in the morning and travel to Zamość, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its Renaissance architecture and historic Jewish quarter. Visit the Zamość Synagogue, one of the best-preserved synagogues in Poland, and explore the old Jewish district. Continue to Biłgoraj, a town with a significant Jewish history, where you can visit sites related to the Jewish community that once thrived here. Overnight in Biłgoraj.

Day 6

Biłgoraj – Rzeszów – Łańcut

Travel from Biłgoraj to Rzeszów, a city with a rich Jewish past. Visit the Rzeszów Jewish Cemetery and the site of the former synagogue. Afterward, continue to Łańcut, where you will explore the Łańcut Castle and the Łańcut Synagogue, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved synagogues in Poland. Learn about the history of the Jewish community in Łańcut and the surrounding area. Overnight in Łańcut.

Day 7

Łańcut – Tarnów

Depart from Łańcut and travel to Tarnów, a town known for its well-preserved Jewish heritage. Visit the remnants of the old synagogue, the Jewish cemetery, and the Bimah of the Old Synagogue, which stands as a powerful memorial. Explore Tarnów’s Old Town, which was once home to a vibrant Jewish community. Learn about the tragic fate of Tarnów’s Jews during World War II. Overnight in Tarnów.

Day 8

Tarnów – Kraków

After breakfast, depart for Kraków, one of Poland’s most beautiful and historically significant cities. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and start your exploration of the Kazimierz District, the historic Jewish quarter. Visit the Old Synagogue, the oldest synagogue building still standing in Poland, and the Remuh Synagogue and Cemetery. In the evening, attend a traditional Klezmer music performance in Kazimierz. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Kraków.

Day 9

Kraków – Auschwitz-Birkenau

Take a day trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the most notorious Nazi concentration and extermination camp. Engage in a guided tour of the camp, reflecting on the horrors of the Holocaust and paying your respects to the victims. Return to Kraków in the afternoon and visit Schindler’s Factory Museum, which tells the story of Oskar Schindler and the lives of the Jewish people during the Nazi occupation of Kraków. Kraków

Continue your exploration of Kraków’s Jewish heritage with a visit to the Galicia Jewish Museum, which commemorates the victims of the Holocaust and celebrates the Jewish culture of Galicia. Take a walking tour of the Kraków Ghetto and visit the Ghetto Heroes Square and the Eagle Pharmacy Museum, which played a significant role in helping Jews during the war. In the afternoon, visit the Wawel Castle and Cathedral, followed by free time to explore the city’s Old Town. Enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Kraków. Overnight in Kraków.

Day 11

Departure from Kraków

Spend your final morning in Kraków visiting any sites you may have missed or engaging in some last-minute shopping. Depending on your flight time, you may visit the Jagiellonian University or take a stroll through Kraków’s Planty Park. Transfer to the airport for your departure.
