Agriculture Group Tour from Kenya
In November 2013, 22 farmers from Kenya participated in an agricultural tour in Israel.
On arrival they were transported to Kibbutz Ketura in the south of the country for check in and overnight. They spent the next day on the Kibbutz as well as visiting a solar field and Algatechnologies and also a dairy farm and experimental fields.
The following day was spent at the Hatzeva Research and development centre and the Yair Station. At this amazing agricultural site they learned about Organic Farming and Water Management. After that they had an opportunity for some relaxation and spent some time enjoying the therapeutic water of the Dead Sea.
The group spent a few days viewing the holy sites of Jerusalem and Bethlehem and then travelled to the North of Israel where they visited and toured Afimilk Dairy farm technologies and also visited Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu where they observed Organic Farming and a Bio-Bee factory. While in the North they visited the Mount of Beatitudes and enjoyed a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
Their tour came to an end with a drive to the City of Rishon Lezion to visit Igudan Visitors Centre (the Dan Region Association of Towns for Sewage and Environmental Issues), before being transported to the airport for departure.
