Pilgrimage to the Holy Land from the Ivory Coast
In July this year Direction National Des Oeuvres Catholiques de Cote D'Ivoire once again organized a group pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
This group of 32 Catholics first traveled to Italy where they spent a week touring religious and historical sites in Rome, the Vatican and Assisi.
From Rome they continued to Israel to begin their Holy Land tour starting with Nazareth, Cana, Mount Tabor, Capernaum and a cruise on the Sea of Galilee. The group then traveled to Jerusalem, stopping on the way to renew their baptismal vows in the River Jordan.
Once reaching Jerusalem, the group visited Pater Noster Church, Church of Ascension, Garden of Gethsemane to name just a few of the sites toured in this ancient city. While staying in Jerusalem the pilgrims toured the old City including the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. They also found time to drive to Bethlehem to see the Church of the Nativity.
While in the Holy land the group also took time to visit other sites like Masada, The Dead Sea, Ein Karem and Abu Gosh as well as enjoying a farewell dinner with singing and dancing.
