Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival – Cairo

Arrival at Cairo Airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2

Memphis – Giza

Visit Memphis, Sakkara, the Pyramids of Giza, and the Sphinx. Overnight in Cairo.

Monastery of Saint Gerasimos

Day 3

Cairo

City tour of Cairo, including – the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel, Mohamed Ali Mosque, the Old City, and Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 4

Cairo – Suez Canal – Sinai – St. Catherine Monastery

 Drive via the Suez Canal to St. Catherine for overnight.

Day 5

St. Catherine Monastery – Petra

Climb up Mt. Sinai in the early hours of the morning. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Visit the Monastery of St. Catherine, the Burning Bush.
Drive to the Taba border crossing between Egypt and Israel, where your bus and guide will meet you and transfer you to the border crossing between Israel and Jordan. Cross into Jordan, where you will be transferred to Petra for overnight.

Day 6

Petra – Amman

Morning visit to Petra – pink City where the Nabateas lived 300 BC. Walk through the Siq Canyon. Visit the Treasury and the ruins of this palatial building. Small Roman and Nabatean tombs are carved into the mountainsides in Petra. Afternoon departure to Amman. Panoramic City Tour. Overnight in Amman.

Day 7

Amman – Mt. Nebo – Jerusalem

City tour of Amman and visit Mt Nebo where Moses saw the Promised Land. Cross into Israel. Transfer to hotel in Jerusalem for overnight.

Day 8

Qumran – Massada – Dead Sea

Drive to Massada, passing Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Ascend by Cable Car to visit the last Fortress of the Zealots with the excavations of Herod’s Palace, Roman Baths, etc.
Descend by Cable Car and drive to the Dead Sea for the unique experience of floating in these waters, which have amazing healing powers. Overnight at the Dead Sea

Day 9

Caesarea – Haifa – Akko – Galilee – Tiberias

Drive along the coastal road to the excavated City of Caesarea. Drive through the port city of Haifa to Ancient Akko. Visit this ancient Crusader City with its many excavations. Drive to Tiberias for overnight.

Day 10

Galilee – Capernaum – Tabgha – Mt of Beatitudes – Jordan River

Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum and the ancient Synagogue. Visit Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of the Multiplication.
Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. Time for Baptism in the Jordan River – traditional baptism site. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 11

Tiberias – Cana – Nazareth – Jericho – Jerusalem

Drive from Tiberias to Cana, the site of the First Miracle. Visit the Wedding Church – where you can renew your marriage vows. Proceed to Nazareth, Church of Annunciation, and Mary’s well.
Drive along the Jordan Valley to the ancient town of Jericho. See the Mount of Temptation and the Sycamore tree. Continue to Jerusalem for overnight.

Day 12

Jerusalem and Bethlehem

Visit Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, the Shepherds Fields, and the Church of Nativity.
Return to Jerusalem. Visit Yad Vashem, Holocaust Memorial. Continue to Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist. Return to Jerusalem for overnight.

Day 13

Jerusalem

Drive to the Mount of Olives. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. Enter the Old City. Visit Pools of Bethesda.
Walk along the Via Dolorosa following the Stations of the Cross. Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Walk through the colorful bazaars to the Western Wall. Visit Mt. Zion – the Hall of the Last Supper and the Tomb of King David. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 14

Jerusalem – departure

Transfer to Airport for departure flight.
