The Tunisian synagogue in Acre is the only one of its kind in the world.
It has four floors and every floor, ceiling, wall and staircase is covered in millions of exquisite and spectacular handmade mosaics designed on Kibbutz Eilon nearby. All the mosaics are from natural stones around the country.
It has taken 54 years to complete this project.
The history of the Jewish people is depicted in detailed pictures made from the handmade mosaics.
There are also 140 stained – glass windows depicting the Land of Israel through bible pictures.
The synagogue which is house to 7 Torah Arks and millions of natural mosaic stones is well worth a visit.
