The month of April brought an extremely large number of tourists to the Holy Land because of the many special events that took place in the country due to Israel's 70th anniversary celebrations, as well as both the Jewish Passover and Christian Easter holidays. The holy Land landscape was brimming with color- from the blue and white flags of Israel to the bright colorful spring flowers that were in full bloom.
Amongst our many groups that visited from around the world during April were a group of Priests from Vietnam tour with us, some Philippine groups and a number of different groups from the USA. Some of our groups from Africa included 42 pax from Kenya. A number of Norwegian groups traveled to the Holy Land in April. Besides for touring throughout the country and visiting the historical and biblical sites, a special gathering with these 200 tourists from Norway was held in Jerusalem to celebrate Israel’s 70th anniversary.
The groups visited places around the country including Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the city where Jesus was born, and then ascending to the city of Nazareth, where he spent most of his life. Some of them took the opportunity to renew their baptism vows in the Jordan River either at Yardenit or Qasr el Yahud where John the Baptist baptized Jesus while others renewed their marriage vows at the wedding Church in Cana. A traditional boat ride on the Sea of Galilee in a replica of a wooden Jesus Boat was enjoyed by many of the groups as well as a float on the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea.
The combination of religious tourism with leisure tours is fundamental to ensure the success of our pilgrims' journey to the Holy Land and we looking forward to receiving more groups and being able to share with them everything of the best that this region has to offer.
