Singapore Holy Land Group Tour November 2013
In November a group of 49 pilgrims from Singapore led by Rev. Peter Poon travelled to Jordan and Israel for 11 days.
After arriving in Amman the group spent two days touring the sites of Jordan including Madaba, Mount Nebo where Moses was shown the Promised Land, Wadi Mousa and the Rose red city of Petra.
On the third day they crossed into Israel and drove to Jericho the oldest city on earth to see the Sycamore tree and the Mount of Temptation. From there they travelled north via Beit Shean to Tiberias.
The next few days were spent exploring the Galilee region visiting Nazareth, Cana, The Golan Heights, Banias - also known as Caesarea Philippi. Amongst other places visited in the north were Capernaum, Tabgha and the Mount of Beatitudes.
On Day six the group drove along the coastal road via Caesarea to the old port city of Jaffa before continuing to their hotel in Jerusalem.
While in Jerusalem the group toured the old city to visit the main sites and churches, as well as touring the New city to the Israel Museum and Yad Vashem Memorial to the Holocaust. They also traveled to Bethlehem to visit the Shepherds Field and the church of Nativity.
The last full day in the Holy Land was spent touring Bethany to visit Lazarus Tomb. Qumran where the Essene enclave was and see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden, Masada and the Dead Sea where they got to experience floating on the unique waters.
Finally the group travelled back to Amman Airport for their return flight home.
