Holy Land Tour from Brazil
GRUPO MAGNIFICAT - July 2013
In July 2013, 18 Catholic pilgrims from Brazil led by Fr. Jamie Bettega traveled to Israel for a tour of the Holy Land.
After arriving in the Holy Land, the group began their tour with a visit of the city of Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa. They also visited Caesarea seeing the Roman Amphitheatre and the aqueducts. After touring Haifa they continued north to Nazareth.
While in the North the group toured the Sea of Galilee region including Capernaum, Tabgha and Mount Tabor as well as Yardenit on the Jordan River where they got to renew their baptismal vows.
From the north the group continued on their Holy Land tour driving via Jericho and the Qumran caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, to the beautiful city of Jerusalem.
The four days spent in Jerusalem included visiting The Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, the old city including the Western Wall, walking along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Ein Karem and a number of churches. During this time the group travelled to the Dead Sea where they ascended by cable car to visit the fortress of Masada and after descending back down spent some time relaxing in the healing waters of the Dead Sea.
We look forward to having more groups from Brazil join us on a Holy Land tour in the future.
