The new year began with smiles and lots of positive energy for a peaceful and successful year. The weather was quite cold here in Israel but we had lots of sun for most of the month and our groups had a wonderful time exploring the Holy Land.
Many groups from around the world traveled to the holy Land to tour with Vered Hasharon in January. We had groups from the Philippines, the USA, Australia, Ethiopia and a number of other countries.
Some of the groups were pilgrims who spent most of their time visiting the Christian holy sites in the Galilee region including The Mount of Beatitudes, boat rides on the Sea of Galilee in a replica of a Jesus boat with time for prayer and reflection as well as visiting other sites throughout the country.
We had a family group from Australia who, besides doing the usual sightseeing, were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and got to spend time having fun in the snow on Mount Herman. They also spent time strolling through the markets in Jerusalem, diving in the Red Sea in Eilat and taking part in the Temple Mount Sifting project – an Israeli archaeological project begun in 2005 dedicated to recovering archaeological artifacts.
Our staff from our office in China came to Israel for a FAM trip in January and spent time traveling around Israel learning about and seeing the sites as well as spending some time at our head office in Israel meeting and spending time with the staff here.
All in all, it was a very exciting start to a new year and we look forward to welcoming thousands of pilgrims, tourists and business groups who have booked to travel to the Holy Land with us in 2018.
