July in Israel is mid-summer, schools are on holiday and many people are travelling abroad. During the month tourists flood Israel to spend time lounging on our golden beaches, swimming in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea or diving to see the fascinating and breathtaking coral in the Red Sea. We also have many groups arriving on pilgrimages from countries around the world.
July brought with it a number of groups from many different corners of the globe. One of our groups from Australia Led by Fr John Magri included in their tour a visit to Jacob's Well located at the entrance to a mountain pass between Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal, Jacob's Well is the site where Jesus asked a Samaritan woman for a drink and offered her “living water”.
One of our Groups from Polokwane, South Africa toured the Holy Land. Including in their visit a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and baptism in the Jordan River at Yardenit.
A family from the Philippines traveled all the way to tour the Holy Land and renew their wedding vows at the Cana Wedding Church.
Many more groups of pilgrims toured the Holy Land in July with us and as we bid them farewell, we begin preparations for August groups.
