During the difficult days that we have experienced recently here in Israel it is with gratification and genuine awe that we are able to report to all our friends that even though there was an expected drop in tourism to Israel, since the beginning of the crisis there was not one group cancelation from Africa, nor did any individual in these groups cancel their participation.
Since the end of June hundreds of African visitors from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Benin, the Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Togo, Cameroon and Niger have been received here which has boosted our morale to a high degree.
Even during the dark 72 hours when flights from many countries were banned from flying here, only British Airways, the Russian and Ukrainian airlines as well as Ethiopian Airlines, a member of Star Alliance continued flying to Israel. Thanks to Ethiopian Airlines and the African pilgrims, Israel discovered the wonderful people who brought sunshine to our gloomy days.
We salute and thank our steadfast pilgrim friends from Africa.
