Tel Aviv is a vibrant and exciting large cosmopolitan city and was the first modern city that was built in Israel when the country was still part of the Ottoman Empire. Today Tel Aviv is the economic and cultural center of Israel. Even though Tel Aviv is a very modern city and often referred to as “The city that never stops”, it is combined with Old Jaffa which at the same time gives it ancient city status.
Tourists who are looking for some fun time will enjoy relaxing on the beautiful white sandy beaches on the shores of the Mediterranean. There are many other interesting places to see in the city of Tel Aviv. Visit the colorful and bustling Carmel Market, stroll around the streets and view the Bauhaus architecture of “The White City” a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visit the Azrieli Observatory and view the city from high above, and visit the many museums and galleries.
A visit to the 3000 year old picturesque ancient Port of Jaffa with its many attractions is well worthwhile. Saunter through the charming narrow alleyways with lovely old stone houses and visit the artists’ quarter, tourist center, galleries and shops filled with Judaica. Enjoy the atmosphere of the seaside promenade and the fishing Port. Old Jaffa also has some important Christian sites like the Church of Saint Peter, the house of Simon the Tanner and the tomb of Tabitha.
Not to be forgotten are Tel Aviv’s many excellent world class restaurants and renowned electrifying and trendy bars and pubs, which combine to make nightlife in Tel Aviv a not to be missed experience.
