A group of families and church participants from the U.S.A. arrived in Israel in February on a pilgrimage and spent 9 days touring the Holy Land. A number of the participants had been on a tour to Israel in the past and had enjoyed it so much felt the need to return and experience it all over again.
While here the group spent time in the North visiting the Christian Holy Sites including the Mount of Beatitudes, Ginnosar to see the fishermen’s boat, found on these shores, dating back to Jesus’ time and Caesarea Philippi, now called Banias, where Peter made his confession of faith, and identified Jesus as the Messiah. And Jesus said “thou art Peter upon this rock I will build my church”. Matt.16-17-18.
In Jerusalem they spent time in the Old City following the Stations of the Cross as well as visiting the Jewish Quarter and the Cardo.
There was also time for the group to travel down to the lowest point on earth – The Dead Sea where they had a chance to float in the rejuvenating waters after spending time exploring the ruins at Masada.
