Winemaking in Israel goes back to biblical times. For many centuries, the monasteries of the Holy Land have carefully cultivated grapes and prepared then for wine making. The five regions in Israel that produce wine today are the Galilee, the Judean Hills, the Negev desert, the Shomron region and the Samson region. According to archeological evidence, wine made in the Judean Hills region 2000 years ago was enjoyed by Pilgrims making their way to the Temple in Jerusalem.
Israel has 150+ boutique wineries and more than 25 commercial wineries. One of the adventure tours that we offer is a tour of the wineries in the Judean Hills and Samson region which includes touring vineyards, tasting wine and experiencing the beauty of the area.
