Holy land Tour from Benin - West Africa

 

 

13 Catholic tourists from the Republic of Benin in West Africa toured the Holy Land in March for 10 days.

 

The group traveled to the Galilee region via Caesarea touring Nazareth, Cana, Mount Tabor, Mount of Beatitudes and also enjoying a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee in a replica of a Jesus boat. After visiting other sites in the region like Banias and Yardenit, baptism site, the group traveled to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus where they toured the city, visited the Church of Nativity and held Mass before continuing to Jerusalem.

 

The next few days were spent touring the sites of Jerusalem and the surrounding areas where they visited the holy sites and churches, walked along the Via Dolorosa and held Mass at the Church of The Holy Sepulcher. They also toured Ein Karem – the birthplace of John the Baptist and went to Emmaus where they held mass.

 

During the trip the group also had a chance to drive to the Dead Sea region where they got to see the fortress of Masada as well as enjoying a swim/float in the unique waters of the Dead Sea.
