Israel tour from Germany
SOS Children’s Villages International is an organization dedicated to helping families care for their children by supporting disadvantaged families who are at risk of separation, or alternatively in cases where children are not able to be cared for by their biological families, by providing homes in SOS children’s villages or with committed foster carers.
The organization advocates for children’s rights, and promotes the development, education and health of all children by developing and supporting programs that cater to over one million children worldwide.
A group of 23 donors from SOS Children’s Village Organization arrived in Israel from Germany in February for 10 days to tour the Holy Land and spend some time visiting some of the SOS Children’s Villages around the country.
During their visit the group toured the North including a visit to Capernaum, Caesarea, Acre, Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, and a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Also while in the North they visited Megadim Children’s Village in Migdal Haemek where they got to meet the staff, the Mothers and some of the children and see how the village is run.
The group travelled to Jerusalem where the group got to tour and visit the holy and historical sights of this beautiful city.
After Jerusalem the group travelled to Bethlehem and visited the SOS Children’s Village in Bethlehem situated near the historical Shepherd's Field. Once again, they met the children of the village and SOS Mothers and got to see some of the family houses.
Travelling south the group stopped for a visit of Masada and took some time out to relax at the Dead Sea and enjoy the therapeutic waters before continuing on to a visit of the SOS Children’s Village near Arad where they met with the staff and had a tour of the village.
The tour ended in Tel Aviv with a tour of the famous Bauhaus architecture that Tel Aviv is well known for.
